Vid Q&A, riding the MotorStorm (and insulting) with Evolution Studios
ThreeSpeech throws open the hood of MotorStorm as they talk to the guys at Evolution Studios. It’s hard work getting all that dirt working in this dirty game, but getting closer to its release date (even if it is pushed back in Japan), the people at Evolution can finally sit back, take a few, and talk to ThreeSpeech about all they’ve done for the game – and all the game’s going to do to you.
There’s a bit of the background in getting the game environment – recreated off Monument Valley in HD – down to the deforming environment and the “off-the-scale physics”, but perhaps the fun part here is their discussion of the AI, and making it as human as possible. Lead Designer Nigel Kershaw talks about the AI doing stupid things like showing off, and flipping you the bird. And flipping you the bird… That cheeky sonof– Of course the AI will also do some nasty things to you besides insulting you: “gangs of vehicles” will also team up to turn your vehicle into an insurance nightmare.
Was this because I decided to flip them the bird in reply?
