Video download service for the PSP

Another serviceA brief report over at the Interactive Investor says that Sony will offer a video download service for the PSP during the first quarter of 2007. The scheme somehow involved downloading video content to a PC for a one-time transfer to a PSP.

No word on the format, but so far reports say that a 4GB memory stick has the capacity to store about 10 feature films. There are also reports that Sony is negotiating with Amazon, Movielink, and CinemaNow to provide content.

Promising? Maybe… if only the whole thing was something more similar and as open as this.
