Video: MGS 4: Guns of the Patriots Revival trailer

The countdown to Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots has begun, and Konami is doing one of its own through a video that looks back at the yesteryears of the franchise. Flirt with nostalgia when you watch Solid Snake as his young self in some of the most memorable locales he’s ever visited when you watch the video after the jump.

It’s only a little over a month before we see the Metal Gear series enter the next generation of video game consoles, and we couldn’t be more excited about it. Yup, this video brings back the glory years of the franchise with footage stemming from the very first MGS to spin-offs and sequels of the yesteryears. If you haven’t been keeping track, it’s been a decade since Hideo Kojima shocked us all with his first run as director, and we have him to thank for all the great tactical espionage action memories we’ve known since then.

MGS4 launches on the 12th of June this year, and Beta testing for Metal Gear Online is now live. We’ve all got our fingers crossed that this game will prove to be an early contender for Game of the Year honors. We’ll keep you posted for more.
