Video: PSOne backup running on a PS3 thanks to PS3 TIFF exploit?
A new video that supposedly documents the ability to play PlayStation One backups on the PS3 has been posted on YouTube by Paolohack. While we can’t say it for certain, the video does look pretty legit. Still, take this with a grain of salt first.
Anyway, this was apparently done using the new PS3 TIFF exploit that was discovered more than a week ago by members of the PS3Hax Network website (thanks to Phil19 for the tip!). You can read more about the exploit by clicking on the Read link.
The TIFF exploit apparently doesn’t work with PlayStation 2 or PlayStation 3 backups yet, as more testing is required. Paolohack notes that the exploit was tested on a PAL console running firmware 1.81. The video embed’s below. Check it out and tell us your thoughts by leaving a comment.
