As a follow-up to yesterday’s video interview post, Street Fighter 4 producer Yoshinori Ono is once again in the spotlight as he talks about the gameplay system in the series’ latest iteration.
Asked if any of the refinements that were in Street Fighter 3 would be making an appearance in Street Fighter 4, Ono pointed out that gamers won’t be seeing the parry system in Street Fighter 4. Fans of the system shouldn’t despair just yet, though.
Capcom will instead be introducing a few new systems – one called Saving System, in particular – that will incorporate some of the things players can do with the parry system. The producer explained that they felt the parry system might “present an unnecessary hurdle” for the non-hardcore Street Fighter players, hence the decision to drop it.
