Virtua Fighter 5 Gets PS3 Game Time
Yes folks, you’re seeing that right. Sega held a press conference yesterday that not only showed off the latest version of the PS3-only Virtua Fighter 5, but also allowed people at the presscon to actually play the game on a PS3!
On the 1UP previews page, they said the game was “arcade perfect” and also looked great. As you can probably tell from the screenshots, there isn’t any doubt as to the look and feel of the game. The main problem now would be getting Sega to speed up the loading times, as it took around 10 seconds to load from the character selection screen to the actual fight. Either way, it does look good, doesn’t it?
The one thing that’ll make you smile in the pictures though is the controller. We’re not sure how they hooked up an actual arcade controller to the PS3, but it does add to the arcade perfect feel they mentioned earlier. Let’s hope that security was strict or they could have had misplaced PS3s before the end of the day.
Finally, we do happen to have a transcript of some of the opening lines of the game, which are as follows:
Kick, Punch, it’s all in the mind.
If you wanna test me, I’m sure you’ll find
The things I teach ya
Is sure to beat’cha
But nevertheless you’ll get a lesson from teacher now!
Waitaminute. That’s the wrong game. Never mind. While there’s no word on a release date, rumors have been going around that it will see a release in early 2007, so keep checking QJ for more updates, and save up some cash for the console.
