Virtua Fighter 5 PlayStation 3 build not getting patch, says Sega
Ever wondered when the PlayStation 3 version of Virtua Fighter 5 will get some love from Sega? This issue has been brewing for some months already and culminated after the developers recently launched a patch for the Xbox 360 build of the game.
Quite unfortunately, Sega’s response to the inquiry is not favorable for Sony PS3 owners. Check out the full details after the jump!
We really can’t blame some gamers if they feel slighted by Sega‘s latest actions regarding the fighting game Virtua Fighter 5 (PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360). And all these gamers, quite unfortunately, happened to be PS3 owners.
It actually began months ago when Sega confirmed that no online play is being planned for the PS3 version of VF 5. The Xbox 360 version then came out carrying an online mode in all its glory.
To make matters worse for PlayStation 3 owners, a recent patch has been released for the Xbox 360 build of Virtua Fighter 5 to further refine the game’s online component as well as some graphics improvements.
When asked if the same will be done on the Sony platform, a Sega representative provided this comment, “At this time Sega has no plans to release a patch for the PS3 version of Virtua Fighter 5.”
We really don’t have any idea, truth be told, how – or why, for that matter – Sega reached such conclusion. But you need not worry as we promise to provide you the latest updates as soon as Sega gives proper explanation about the matter.
