Virtual Console gets Ninja Gaiden 3, Phantasy Star 3 on Monday?
This coming Monday will be a day of numerals – II and III, to be precise, so we’re hearing. Why? That’s because Nintendo’s Virtual Console will be getting two classic games for retro gamers to enjoy: Ninja Gaiden 3: The Ancient Ship of Doom and Phantasy Star II. A Wii bit short on the details, we know, so why not turn to the full article after the jump?
Some of you may have turned green with envy upon hearing that PAL territories got Phantasy Star 2 for the Nintendo Wii’s Virtual Console service. No need to fret, though: according to a leaked press release, that same game plus Ninja Gaiden 3: The Ancient Ship of Doom will be made available to Wii consumers this coming Monday – supposedly.
Ninja Gaiden 3: The Ancient Ship of Doom was the final installment in the Tecmo‘s Ninja Gaiden series on the now-defunct Nintendo Entertainment System. Phantasy Star 2, on the other hand, is a critically-acclaimed RPG that debuted on the old Sega Genesis.
If you’re interested in grabbing either or both of these classic games, better stock up on Nintendo Wii points. Ninja Gaiden 3: The Ancient Ship of Doom will cost you 500 Wii points, while Phantasy Star 2 will cost you 800 Wii points.
Anyway, we’re tagging this as a mere rumor for now, seeing that the press release is not exactly “official.” We’ll be sure to keep you updated anyhow. At least there’s potentially something to look forward to this Monday, right?
