Sega announced that it will be releasing two classics on the U.S. Virtual Console this month. The two games, namely, Powerball and Puyo Puyo 2 will be available for 800 Wii points each.
Powerball, which made its debut on the Sega Genesis, is a one or two player game similar to American Football. Played on a 100 yard field with two teams, the object of Powerball is to either carry the ball into the opponent’s court or kick it into the net.
Puyo Puyo 2, on the other hand, is a puzzle game which first came out in 1994. The object of the game is to connect four or more similarly colored puyos to pop them. This is important because the moment the play area is filed with puyos, you automatically lose the game.
These two titles will probably provide those who download them quite a number of hours of retro gaming. If you can’t remember either of these games, maybe these screenshots from Sega will help jog your memory.
