Ever 17 - Image 1Them lucky Japanese are getting two more new titles for the PlayStation Portable next year: Cybersoft’s Never 7: The End of Infinity and Ever 17: The End of Infinity.

Both of these titles were originally released a few years ago by developer KID for a variety of consoles. The latter title had a U.S. release for PC, so there may still be a chance that these two will make it outside Japan.

These are remakes, so a few enhancements are of course in order. These take the form of new opening movies, new vocal themes for Ever 17, and a glossary function to help players keep up with the games’ keywords.

Both are visual novels, so those looking for a quick action fix should probably stay away. Now, visual novels may sound boring (some of them are, actually), but a quick look at the plot of Ever 17 at Wikipedia (there are spoilers everywhere!) has definitely gotten me interested. If you’re not afraid of spoilers, check it out.

Never 7: The End of Infinity and Ever 17: The End of Infinity are slated for a simultaneous March 12 release in Japan. There are two versions: the standard version costs ¥5,040 (US$ 54.78), while a premium pack that comes with a soundtrack cd and an artbook goes for ¥7,140 (US$ 77.59).
