Viva Pinata to dangle earlier than expected?

Rumors about Viva Piñata, a game weaved by famous developer Rare (Perfect Dark Zero and Kameo creator), coming out earlier than previously declared is scattering like, well, candies from a bashed piñata. Instead of earlier reports that it’ll be released by November 2006, it seems Microsoft has changed it’s mind and will now ship it two months earlier. I wouldn’t blame them, who would want to buy this title if it coincides with PlayStation 3’s debut?

A game that is billed to challenge the popularity of Pokemon, Viva Piñata is a colorful imitation of the game they want to challenge (sorry, that’s my own opinion) where gamers are also expected to train, feed, breed their piñatas until they evolve. Xbox Live! will pave the way for multiple players to interact via battles, race competitions and trades. If indeed the rumor about its earlier shipping is true, I wouldn’t even care, it’s not like I love Pokemon, I just hate imitations more.
