Blizzard Entertainment’s got way more to celebrate over than just World of Warcraft hitting the 10 million subscriber milestone.
The Vivendi Corporation recently sent out a press wire announcing that Vivendi Games, its branch handling Blizzard, has earned a staggering one billion Euro (US$ 1.5 billion) in revenues last 2007.
That’s a 26.6 percent boost compared to the 804 million Euro (US$ 1.2 billion) the company made back in 2006. Getting into specifics, Vivendi indicated that 814 million Euro was attributed to Blizzard, whose success was in turn attributed to the popularity of its WoW MMORPG.
The feat was made all the more prominent when Vivendi Games further noted that Sierra Online and Vivendi Games Mobile saw a 29 percent dip in their revenues last year as compared to 2006.
