Wanna reach rank 14? Play 10 hours a day
PvP is definitely one of the more enjoyable aspects of World of Warcraft. It’s a chance for people to show off their ubar l33t skillz and the sheer amount of Epic equipment that they have. Climbing up the Battlegrounds ladder also nets your character a nice set of new stuff to dress up in, so that’s also a big plus.
And then there’s the rankings. If you’re shooting for that armor set that you can only get once you reach rank 10 and you’re wondering just how long it’s gonna take you to reach it, then you might wanna take a look at some new data from PlayOn that graphs the number of play-hours you need to put in to get to whatever rank you want.
We took a look at the graph (you can check it out up on top) and, boy, were we surprised. It takes almost 80 hours of play-time PER WEEK to reach rank 14. That equates to more than 10 hours of playing per day! Of course, the graphing here isn’t entirely accurate, as there are some players who have reached the high ranks in less time, but it’s still gives a pretty good idea of how much dedication – and free time – you’re gonna need to reach the High Warlord/Grand Marshal rank.
Keep in mind, though, that this graph was based on data taken recently, and since Burning Crusade will reportedly include a few enhancements for the PvP and honor system, most likely we won’t have to sink 80+ hours of gameplay a week into WoW just to get our hands on that rank 14 distinction.
