In an interview conducted by Ten Ton Hammer, Associate Producer Josh Drescher talks about what makes this evil race look so good.

One of the things that make the Dark Elf race so appealing is the rich lore imbued into the regular storyline. Drescher mentions that all the important plot points that run through the Dark Elf race will have a significant impact on the game – from the Hag Queen Morathi to the Witch Elf‘s Cauldron of Blood.

Drescher admitted, however, that they bent the rules a little bit when it came to creating some of the different character classes. To make the game a little less limiting according to Warhammer lore, they created liberties such as male Sorcerers (who are normally an all-female group). They wanted to make sure to make things flexible enough for gamers to get into the feel of things while still keeping into the spirit of the lore.

When asked about the pros and cons about bringing the Dark Elves to life on the virtual world, this is what Drescher had to say:

As with most races, the toughest challenge is choosing which of the Dark Elf careers we want to use. There are so many cool options that itÂ’s always difficult to decide what elements are going to be excluded in the initial release. As for the easiest, that would DEFINITELY be getting folks excited about working on them.

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning is set to be released during the second quarter of this year and will be published under the Electronic Arts name. So if you’re excited as the developers are with this delightfully evil race, then make sure to come back to this spot for more updates on WAR.
