Head on over to the full article to find out what Mark Jacob, the CEO of Mythic Entertainment, had to say about it.

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning - Image 1Remember when Mythic Entertainment revealed that four capital cities and a number of classes were cut from Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning? Well, this act has opened up the question: will Mythic be selling the additional content as an expansion or be releasing them as an update?

Mark Jacobs, the CEO of Mythic Entertainment, posted on the Warhammer Alliance forums regarding this issue. First off, he noted that he isn’t morally or ethically opposed towards releasing the content as an expansion. However, and this is the kicker, the question he is asking is whether or not they should do it.

Jacobs discussed this further:

We’ve always tried to hold ourselves to a higher standard. No, we’re not perfect, yes we make mistakes and yes, yes , yes we are also a business but just because you can do something doesn’t always mean you should do something.

In this case, what we want to do and what we will try our best to do is to make sure that if/when we bring back those classes and these cities (sorry for the if, don’t read more into it, just being careful) that players will not have to buy them from us as part of a paid expansion but rather just part of the content updates that we did so well for DAoC.

So does this mean that they won’t be releasing the cut content as a paid expansion? Well, Jacobs promised that they would “do their best” to get the content to the players free. However, this is by no means a confirmation that it will indeed be free. So now we wait. The ball is in your court Mythic, what are you going to do?
