Warhammer: Squad Command being developed by RedLynx
THQ announced back in July that Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command is coming to Nintendo DS and PlayStation Portable. The said announcement was welcomed warmly by users of both handhelds but one of the most obvious and important question that was asked was, “Who’s developing it?”
Well, the developer has finally gone out of hiding, so to speak, and it’s no other than Finland-based RedLynx. The company is not at all new to the video game industry, having developed a handful of notable titles in the past. The company gained recognition for its previous outings on Nokia’s N-Gage platform.
“To be able to work with THQ and to create a game set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe is a unique opportunity. We want to use it to create a game that everyone can be genuinely proud of – a game made without a single compromise in its quality,” commented RedLynx Game Producer Miika Tams.
Speaking of no compromises, it seems that players will do have a blast playing Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command given all the features mentioned before. The single player campaign will keep anyone busy, and on their toes if we may add. The multiplayer mode, on the other hand, has a total of nine maps that will cater from two to eight players in one go.
RedLynx added that it is just finalizing Warhammer as of the moment and both versions should be out before 2007 ends.
