Warhawk to be acquired via download AND Blu-ray
The internetz is seemingly warming up to Warhawk, and a lot of folks are now getting more and more interested on how exactly you can obtain the said multiplayer online blow-things-up fest by Incognito Entertainment. The problem is, that a loft of folks, even the professionals, are a bit confused as to how the game is to be distributed. There have been previous reports that the game will be downloadable only, and then word got out that it will be a Blu-ray based release, and then word got out yet again that it’s going to be downloadable only. Now it seems that Sony‘s going for both.
Sony Computer Entertainment America clarifies that the game will be available via Blu-ray and via their PlayStation Network.
However, answers only mean more questions (oh how cliche). In this case, Sony is yet to clarify if there will be a price difference between the two means of distribution. 1UP’s Patrick Klepek for instance wonders if Sony could be preparing to release the game in parts, with the initial stuff released at a price on Blu-ray and PSN download, and then have the additional stuff be released via microtransaction.
We’re thinking that if Klepek is correct in his prognostications, Sony better fix – well not really fix, streamline seems the apt term – the processes people go through in order purchase stuff on PlayStation Network. Just so that we don’t have to jump through two bazillion hoops, before we dogfight with 32 other players.
