Warlock Imps restored, no solution to Firebolt

World of Warcraft - the Warlock class - Image 1It’s been an issue around World of Warcraft for some time now that the Imp could actually outdamage certain classes with spell damage coefficients applied to their magical attacks. Another issue is that the talent point addition doesn’t reduce the casting time as it claimed on the talent tree.

The hotfix that Blizzard smudged in, finally restored the damage coefficients back to the Imp’s magical attacks, with a much more acceptable damage output.

This was after Blizzard turned off all damage modifiers to the Imps earlier this month. After a little cuts here and there, the Warlock could be seeing big damage reductions overall.

But what hasn’t been addressed is the casting time of the Firebolt talent which, according to Blizzard rep Ommra, has been set to reduce 0.25 seconds of casting time per point, instead of a whole one second. The fix, which is more of a rash workaround, now looks to be more of a waste for talent points to get your casting time quartered down.

Let’s hope this fix is only temporary, as this really detracts anyone from improving the talent. Since additional points do little in effect, maybe that branch in the talent tree should only be one point. After all, you’ll only get it for the sake of an additional spell. It’s too expensive otherwise.
