Warner Bros. acquiring TT Games
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group announced today that it is in the process of acquiring TT Games, the company responsible for the successful LEGO Star Wars series as well as more upcoming LEGO-themed titles. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group announced today that it is in the process of acquiring TT Games. The acquisition will include TT Games’ video game development arm Traveller’s Tales and TT Games Publishing, the UK-based published behind the successful LEGO Star Wars series and other upcoming LEGO-themed titles.
“TT Games is the leading video game developer for young gamers and their families,” said Kevin Tsujihara, president of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group. “The expertise that TT Games brings to Warner Bros. is a great match with our brands as well as an opportunity to effectively leverage our existing global infrastructure.”
Jon Burton, managing director of Traveller’s Tales, expressed excitement about the acquisition, saying that “the opportunity to become a meaningful part of the worldÂ’s leading entertainment company is the fulfilment of a dream.” Tom Stone, managing director of TT Games Publishing, echoed Burton’s sentiments, saying that Warner Bros’ “history combined with their world class distribution muscle promises a very exciting future for all of us at TT Games.”
TT Games will continue to manage its existing relationships with LEGO, LucasArts and Guiness World Records. TT Games titles in development include LEGO Batman: The Videogame and LEGO Indiana Jones.
