Watch: Nier is Square Enix’s “next great story”

The multiplatform action-RPG title Nier is apparently Square Enix’s “next great story”, or so this new trailer proclaims. Is it really? All I know is that it shows a lot of stringy monsters die in pools of their own blood, which is great in my book.

The multiplatform action-RPG title Nier is apparently Square Enix’s “next great story”, or so this new trailer proclaims. Is it really? All I know is that it shows a lot of stringy monsters die in pools of their own blood, which is great in my book.

Nier is also notable for featuring a visibly old man in the lead role instead of a pretty boy character with a gravity-defying haircut. Anyway, check out the new trailer below.

Nier (or Nier Gestalt as it’s known in Japan) comes out in North America on PS3 and Xbox 360 this spring . On top of this game, Japan’s also getting the PS3-exclusive Nier Replicant. Nier Gestalt is an Xbox 360 eclusive there.
