Weekend Slowdown: Our Top 10 hottest game babes to date
While this list isn’t exactly the most original of its kind, we wanted to offer our take on which mamas are the hottest in the virtual world. Everything here is subjective and any list is as good as ours. So without remorse, this is our top 10 hottest game babes to date:
10. Maria Renard (Castlevania: Symphony of the Night)- The blonde hottie from Alucard’s big night out may not have been seen in 3D glory and all, but the portrait was convincing enough. With her perfect complexion, killer brown eyebrows and the wavy, golden hair, she was a perfect leading lady to match with the vampiric charm of Dracula‘s son.
9. Mai Shiranui (King of Fighters)- Mai first appeared in the first half of the 90’s in Fatal Fury 2. She immediately became one of the stars of the game for obvious reasons: She had the moves and the physique to match. Where rival bear ’em up Street Fighter II featured more conservative lady brawlers, SNK showed Mai’s assets off with an innovative twist: Bouncing jubblies! Now imagine the testosterone levels in the old-school arcades more than a decade ago.
8. Aerith Gainsborough (Final Fantasy VII)- The gorgeous good girl of the legendary RPG Final Fantasy VII may have led a short and sweet character lifespan, but the fact remains that she’s still one of the most beloved females in the business to date. Okay, the clothes she wore may not exactly be revealing, but we have to understand that it’s how she was meant to be packaged in the first place. Imagine if she was a bit more fashion-trendy: She would have given the DoA girls a run for their money.
7. Morrigan Aensland (Dark Stalkers)- The naughty night warrior does that succubus lineage proud. She looked fantastic in 2D and had the ferocity to match. The anime spin-off of Capcom’s popular Halloween fighter did her justice as she was just as charming there. Call her costume weird, but that only strengthens the convictions of her appeal. You gotta admit, not a lot of girls will look sexy in that!

You gotta admit, not a lot of girls will look sexy in that!
6. Samus Aran (Metroid series)- Who knew that inside that gnarly power suit is one of the prettiest women the gaming world has ever seen? Draw her up with 8-bit pixels, in 3D or in anime-style art, and the sexy, spunky Metroid leading lady will still look good. The hair, the body, the attitude and the loyal following are the biggest reasons why she’s in this list.
5. Chun Li (Street Fighter series)- There have been female game characters way before Street Fighter II came along, but we say the Chinese law enforcing fighter is the grandmommy of them all. She’s never really been the type who flaunts her wares, but when she does, you better behave. In the Street Fighter animated movie, she had a fight with Vega after a shower. With only a shirt and her undergarments, she fended off the vicious ninja-matador in one scorching slugfest.
4. Zelda (The Legend of Zelda series)- The carrier of the franchise’s namesake has become something of a modern fairytale. With the NES age where she was initially popularized, nobody really drooled over her. However, when Nintendo launched the Super Mario Bros. Super Show in the US, we got the chance to see through a cartoon what she really looks like. Zelda didn’t disappoint her fans, as she was portrayed as an adventurous princess with both grace and spunk. Nice lips, too.
3. Tifa (Final Fantasy VII)- The optimistic FFVII icon can invite us to a pep rally any day of the week and we’d all go. Lady gamers loved her because of the positive attitude and the killer looks. Guys drooled over her for more reasons than one. Bottom line, 99 percent of the people who played the game liked her and the remain in 1 percent are liars.
2. Lara Croft (Tomb Raider series)- Let’s give credit where it’s due. Lara Croft is a household name and there’s a reason behind it. Heck, even those who never played any of the games in the Tomb Raider series know her. She was the showcase of polygon ladies when the PlayStation launched and she has continued to evolve since then. The franchise may have been struggling in the past years, but people still buy copies and it’s all thanks to her.
1. The Dead or Alive Girls (Dead or Alive series)- We had to place all these comely coquettes in one big bag because if we didn’t, they’d dominate this list and leave space for a few outside the loop. The game was chock-full of bouncing Betties and that essentially set the Xbox on fire. The game can take on the Playboy mansion any day of the week and twice on Sundays. Everyone was pretty and everyone had the body. Case closed.
