Weird rubbery faces: the latest PSP ad video from TBWA

The Sony PlayStation Portable certainly has a lot going for it, and while we certainly love watching advertisements of our favorite game consoles, this is one time we may have to put our feet down. The last time we heard from TBWA, we heard that Sony Computer Entertainment of America had dropped the ad firm in favor of Deutsch, Inc. Now, it seems that Sony has once more asked for their help in promoting the PSP, with a decidedly weird ad for the UK that left us a bit…well, stunned to say the least. No, it’s not something too shocking or non-worksafe, but it’s definitely unique.

What does the video show? Well, it shows off a couple talking about the many functions of the Sony PlayStation Portable all the while pulling at each other’s faces like a cartoon. While we can say that while we’ve seen quite a few crazy ads in our time, this one takes the cake for sheer shock value. Although it also brings to mind the sort of romanticizing that TBWA did with a previous PlayStation ad – what happened to it?
