What in the Whirled! Three Rings announced new MMO Whirled
Game developer Three Rings Design announced its new MMO video game called Whirled. It is the third project in its select roster of titles which include Puzzle Pirates and Bang! Howdy. Aside from being just a game, Whirled is also a web-based social world for chat and player-created content.
Currently, the game is in closed alpha testing, but Three Rings assures fans that it will be inviting people to join in gradually over the next few months as development progresses. Three Rings CEO Daniel James commented:
Whirled is about having fun and making fun! We’ve made a tremendously easy place for people to hang out, play games, and then create their own stuff, from avatars and furniture to complex multiplayer games. Using Flash opens up Whirled creation to the vast number of skilled Flash artists and developers. We’re excited to see what in the Whirled people make.
Whirled was made known to the public during the recently-concluded Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2007. The people who have seen it couldn’t stop making reference to the newly announced PlayStation 3 (PS3) service, PlayStation Home.
