What’s a Playstation 3 Got to Do?
Seems like there are a lot of trouble at next-gen paradise. If you’ll remember, it wasn’t a walk in the park for Microsoft either, when they were trying to market the Xbox 360 in Japan. And now, Sony‘s PLAYSTATION 3 finds itself in between the devil and the deep blue sea, as it gets bad press, a legion of frustrated fans, and the pressure of negating all that before the Tokyo Game Show.
So what’s Sony got to do to redeem itself? The folks over at Gamasutra are also on the same thread of thought, as it poses the question, “Given Sony’s recent issues with PlayStation 3 supply/launch dates and overall negative publicity for the company, what does Sony need to do to convince developers and the public that the PS3 will be the dominant next-gen console?” in their Question of the Week page.
According to Sony’s representatives, the Tokyo Game Show will serve as the litmus for the PLAYSTATION 3 and they’re not coming unprepared. Reports say that this is where Sony will reveal in detail their online service, including the leveraging of the company’s music and video divisions within the network application. But is this enough to guarantee Sony and PLAYSTATION 3 redemption? Only you can tell.
