What’s In Store For City of Heroes On Its 2nd Anniversary

City of HeroesNow enjoying its second anniversary, the game City of Heroes finally has a new Lead Designer – Matt Miller. Cryptic Studio’s famous MMO will have several features added to it to celebrate its second anniversary, as announced by Matt Miller himself.


According to the Lead Designer, a Veteran’s Reward system will be added to the game wherein subscribed active gamers will receive gifts like base items, powers and costume pieces. Rewards to be given will be based on how many months players have been subscribed to the game.

There will also be content and feature additions that would depend on most of the ideas and commments that would be coming from the “City of” franchise’s players. The Lead Designer stated that the future storylines would definitely be something that gamers themselves would beinterested in.

There would also be another issue coming out which would include revamping some zones from the City of Heroes, providing new powersets and presenting an epic archetype. These will all be done in preparation for the next retail box – an expansion to both City of Villains and City of Heroes – due in 2007 which will include new content and zones.

According to Cryptic Studios, these changes and additions are being done to develop and improve the “City of” games for the players.
