WHSmiths, Game, GameStation: Grand Theft Auto 4 PS3 to cost more

Grand Theft Auto IV may cost more in Australia but it has the same price for both the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Over at UK, three major game retailers are indicating that GTA IV will cost more for the Sony PlayStation 3. Details over at the full article.

With only a month left before its release, Grand Theft Auto 4 is set to rake in the pre-orders. Over at the United Kingdom, retailer WHSmiths has turned heads with the price of the Playstation 3 version of GTA IV. In the image above, which you can click for a higher resolution, the Sony PS3 version costs GBP 44.99 – compared to only GBP 39.99 for the Xbox 360.

We don’t know if this is a standard as GTA IV‘s developer Rockstar has not released an official price for the game. However, fellow stores Game and GameStation believe that the PS3 version will really cost more.

Even if Rockstar sets the price range for the game, respective retailers have pretty much the final say on their price tag’s bar code. Seeing as how GTA 4 is more expensive in Australia yet costs the same for both PS3 and Xbox 360, it may be a store-to-store basis.
