Wii crashes in Toys “R” Us Hot Holiday list

Toys

For the first time, Toys “R” Us has included a video game console in their yearly “hot toy” list for the upcoming holidays.  The Nintendo Wii was able to penetrate the list along with the T.M.X. Elmo, Dora’s Talking Cash Register, and Mindstorms NXT. Wii’s penetration of the kid-friendly list came at a time when electronics have began to play an increasingly prominent role in child’s play.

The Wii will be officially out come November 19, giving other next-gen consoles a run for their money. Its inclusion in the elite toy list only widens its already varied market. With games like Super Mario Galaxy, Rayman Raving Rabbids, and Pokemon World among many others, kids would surely be egging their parents to buy them one. Package it with the Wiimote, and voila, you’ve got a great recipe for a tot’s perfect Christmas gift.

One thing’s for sure though, with the console wars looming, the holiday season is going to be one heck of an acid test for every next-gen console. In a little while from now, we may have a clearer picture as to who is the winner among them.
