Wii for US$ 209? Sorry folks, CC removes coupon

CrunchGear reported that if you live near a Circuit City, then you’re in luck. This is because you might have a chance to score a Wii on the cheap. They claimed that all you have to do is visit a website (check our read-link below) for a US$ 40 off coupon, and head to your local Circuit City on a Sunday so you can snag a Wii.

Unfortunately, The Wii Experience reports that the discount coupon has been changed a bit to add this restrictive statement – “Qualifying purchases exclude gaming hardware, Verizon…” meaning that you cannot use the coupon to purchase a Wii on cheap.

A later update reveals that the coupon has been removed from the site entirely. Oh well. So much for that.

It’s a bit disappointing that Circuit City chose to revoke the coupon. They could’ve taken advantage of the massive influx of Wii-starved shoppers. Although in retrospect, perhaps the potential deluge is the reason why they decided to scrap the coupon altogether.
