Wii – Game of the Year

thumb - Image 1The Wii may have had a front loaded year, and you can argue till the cows come home about whether or not there are enough hardcore games on the system, but there are great games. Here’s what we think are the cream of the crop….

Gino D:

Best Wii Game: Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Runner’s Up: de Blob, Boom Blox

Comments: Well, Nintendo‘s first-party list this year was rather skimpy, but Brawl still earns the champion belt for airtime on my Wii more than other great titles.

Isaac C:

Best Wii Game: Lego Batman
Runner’s Up: No More Heroes, Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Comments: Lego Harley Quinn. What’s not to love?

Mabie A:

Best Wii Game: Wii Fit

Runner’s Up: Super Smash Bros. Brawl, de Blob

Comments: Because everybody needs to get off their couches and at least try to be fit. Unfortunately, there are more Wii units than there are games for it. for a console that’s perpetually out of stock, that says a lot.

Kal B:

Best Wii Game: No More Heroes

Runner’s Up: Super Mario Bros. Brawl, Bratz Kidz

Comments: No More Heroes – No More Heroes was Jesus driving out the unscrupulous traders (ridiculously bad party games and deer hunting sims) out of the Wii temple. Too bad the Jesus analogy goes a bit further, as No More Heroes got crucified at the cash register. Still, a great game.

Super Mario Bros. Brawl – Two things: multiplayer and Marth’s Final Smash
Bratz Kidz – Unless Mattel chooses to cash in on the franchise, this is the last Bratz game that will EVER be released. That’s a good thing.

Chris C:

Best Wii Game: Okami

Runner’s Up: Harvest Moon Heroes, No More Heroes.

Comments: Yeah, I know, it wasn’t originally a Wii game, but for whatever reason I didn’t clock too many hours into Okami PS2. Thanks to the guys at Capcom and Ready at Dawn, that’s been rectified and all is well with the world.
