Wii Gets a Virtual Pet
Nintendo is not known for making deals with third party developers. However for its handheld DS, this multinational corporation enjoyed a tremendous deal of success from Bandai Namco’s Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop. That being said, Nintendo decided to give its Wii a virtual pet as well.
It is now confirmed that the Tamagotchi game is coming to the Wii and is to be released some time this year. Hmm, a possible launch title? Anyone?
Anyway, the premise for the new version is quite different from what we are used to seeing. The ultimate goal here is for players to become President of Planet Tamagotchi. Set up as a board game, you do this by earning points as you cross sections on the board. Come election day, the player with the highest rating takes the office.
Aside from that, no further details were revealed. It is highly imperative though that when you have a board game setup, mini games should be available as well. Also, expect some fun and heavy use of the Wiimote. With TGS coming, more details regarding this and for others as well are soon to come out.
