Wii Hide You Seek: The First MMOHD (Hide-and-Seek)

wiiWii Hide You Seek is the the next-gen console’s take on the game that is played (off-line) all over the planet. In the Wii version the hide-and-seek game is played online and involves players from everywhere. The play area ranges from a Mansion, a neighboordhood, and even a city.

Teams are first formed and then they’ll choose a game in the lobby. Every game is unique. For example, in the neighborhood level, cars parked outside houses can serve as hiding places, but the next time you play that level the same car could be some place else. So far, only three game plays are known:

Normal Play
Players: 4-16
After teams are formed, a map is selected based on majority rule. Once the map has loaded, one team will be randomly selected to count. Once selected, the screen will go black as a timer counts down on the screen. Hiders start scurrying. When the countdown strikes zero, the screen returns to normal. Searcher team begins hunting for other players. Hiders are free to move about. The longer the searching takes, the higher the hiders score and rank. Once all players from the hider team are found, that team becomes “it”.

Cops and Robbers
Players: 4-8 (1-2 Robbers 3-6 Cops)hideseek
Again, a classic game played on a new dimension and with up to two robbers against the cops. The robbers hide, and the cops seek. Robbers win by avoiding the cops within a set search time. Cops win if they capture the robbers before the search time ends.

Night Seek
Players: 4-16
Finally, a way to play hide-and-seek at night! The set-up is almost identical to Normal Play but this time searchers must use flashlights. Hiders have flashlight too, for moving around.  This  sounds spooky and hilarious at once which is what we love most about hiding-and-seeking in the dark!

Those are just some of the game modes that have been revealed so far. Typical of Nintendo, it’s playing the coy game with the other gameplays. But if this is just the surface, can you imagine how fun the whole thing is going to be?
