Wii - Image 1Here’s a little something for the Wii that does not only work on the Wii, but also on Gamecube. It’s ekeeke31’s GnuboyGX 17/09/08 release, and we’ve got the features list and changelog after the jump.

Gnuboy GX - Image 1ekeeke31 has come out with his port of Gnuboy, a Gameboy/Gameboy Color emulator that was originally created by Laguna and Gilgamesh. This runs on the Gamecube and the Wii (running in GC mode) via the libogc development library.

The features for this release are the following:

  • Gameboy and Gameboy Color emulation with sound
  • DVD & SDCARD support for rom loading
  • Freeze State support (load & save)
  • SRAM/RTC support (load & save)
  • support for 8MB roms
  • support for zipped (.zip) roms
  • support for alternate Mono Gameboy palettes
  • RTC synchro
  • Load/Save SRAM and FreezeState files (compressed) from/to Memory Card & SDCARD
  • SDLOAD or IPL reboot option
  • Wiimote/Nunchuk/Classic controller support (Wii version only)
  • Automatic SRAM/FreezeState
  • Video mode supported: 480i,480p & 576i (automatic detection)

As for the changelog:

  • fixed “Press Button A” issue with Wiimote controllers
  • added fast scroll using wiimote D-PAD

There’s a readme included in the bundle, so make sure to read it for more detailed instructions. This port is based on the last 1.0.4 CVS source that was released by Joshua_.
