Wii in the city: Nintendo World Store kiosks
What with all the hype centering on the Wii kiosk, New York has it down pat with the Nintendo World Store at the Rockefeller Plaza. They’ve put up their Wii kiosks earlier this week, and lotto996 posted some pics. So if you’re in the area and haven’t seen it yet, drop by and get into the Wii Experience. Well. Sort of.
One thing we’d like to know is where the Wiimotes are. They’re MIA. Sure, these kiosks don’t look exactly like the other pics, but it seems that these “kiosks” aren’t for demo-ing the Wii. You can’t play the games, but just watch the vids on the screen.
It’s hardly our idea of interactive fun, but standing in the front of the screen and basking in the faint neon blue light of the Wii disc tray is worth the trip. This is bliss. Yeah, they said ignorance was bliss, but apparently, those who said it haven’t been in front of a Wii kiosk yet.
