Wii Internet surfing coming December 23… in Sweden

Just a week after the Wii browser hack stopped working, the date for Wii Internet surfing has been announced, and if you are Swedish then you should put it in your diary because Nintendo Sweden have today confirmed that the Opera-powered Wii browser will be available for download from the Wii Shop Channel and will be free until June 2007 in Sweden. Nintendo.se, the official website for Nintendo Sweden housed the announcement today and so far is the only Nintendo website to announce a release date for the Opera browser.

We are still waiting for Nintendo America and other large territories such as Nintendo Japan and Europe to announce their release date for Wii surfing as we are currently unsure whether Nintendo are planning a simultaneous launch for Wii internet surfing.
