This week in Amazon, the Nintendo Wii game console leads all other game systems in the online vendor’s Computers and Video Games category by placing in at number one while its marquee games and peripherals found themselves in the top ten.

Rival game console Sony PlayStation 3 also had some good things going for it as it rises to the second overall spot in the list. Its wireless SIXAXIS controller is ranked in at seventh place. This is in the aftermath of the price drop on the 60GB model which will soon be phased out of the market.

Microsoft‘s Xbox 360 Elite, which once led the top spot, is now at rank 22 on the category. Further along the list is the premium version of the console which is notched at the 30th place. A price drop is projected to happen for the Premium package, though a definite time frame is still to be determined.

It must be made clear that these rankings only encompass a seven-day period. The Xbox 360 still leads the race in terms of total units sold worldwide while the Wii is closing in at second and the PS3 is listed in third.
