Wii owners: You’ve got mail!
When Nintendo posted the Wiimote safety regulations on their site, we thought that’d be the most they’d go to warn the general public about their Wiimote’s aggressive nature. Guess again. Kotaku started getting email from their readers, all of whom owned a Wii. In an effort to make sure everybody would watch where they swing that thing, Nintendo emailed registered Wii owners with an instruction guide on how not to use the white stick.
Quoting the guide: “For example, in a game like Wii Sports bowling, the ball is simply thrown by releasing the B button on the remote, not by letting go of the remote!”
Does this mean the past strike incidents weren’t so much a case of the butter-fingers syndrome we’ve assumed? People accidentally losing the control is one thing, but letting go of it and leaving it in the hands of a breakable plastic strap…it boggles the mind.
