Wii to make public debut at the Australian GAME1 Expo
The rumor is true after all! Australian GAME1 Electronic Expo and Tournament, Oz’s contribution to the growing list of major global gaming events, will have Nintendo’s Wii as one of its star attractions. According to its organizers, Nintendo confirmed fully functional and playable units of the Wii will be available at the event’s launching.
Xbox 360 will be there as well and has no plans of being overshadowed by its competitor. Microsoft booked 500 square meters of exhibit area to accommodate 40 Xbox 360 consoles and 40 next-gen hi-def LCD screens for the gaming tournament it’s sponsoring. MS will also make GAME1 its launching pad for some of its upcoming titles.
In addition, GAME1 will have Samsung’s line of super fast (2-millisecond) HD LCD TVs, Blu-ray tech, mobile phones and MP3 players.
Australian GAME1 Electronic Expo and Tournament 2006 will be held on November 4 and 5 at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, Southbank and on December 2 and 3 at the Sydney Showground, Olympic Park.
