Wii Weather up and running by December 20 *UPDATE*

Wee Weather!Just as promised, new channels are being made available for the holidays, and in fact, Nintendo has just announced that the Wii’s Weather Channel will finally be available by December 20. This announcement appears in the videos section of their website, and is accompanied by a video which demonstrates how the Weather Channel will work. Sadly, we can’t seem to embed the video, so here’s a screenshot of it instead.

Despite it being rather late, the new feature is still a welcome development, and one can’t help but wonder if perhaps this could be the first dose of the Holiday Wii surprise that Nintendo is cooking up for its users… but then again, we could just be getting our hopes up. Either way, just click on the “Read” link below to see the video and the announcement for yourself, in case you don’t want to take our word for it.

Now, if only they’d hurry up with the News Channel as well…

UPDATE: Going over the net, we spotted some pictures of the Wii Weather Channel in action at a site called The Awful Forums (yup, that’s the name of the site). So here are the captures of the Wii’s Weather Channel just for you.
