Wii Zelda: TP details emerge

Details regarding the use of the Wii controller for Zelda: Twilight Princess have been emerging on several fan forums in the last couple of days, and although Nintendo is not commenting on this “rumor” it definitely looks like a plausible control scheme. As you can see, the “Wii-wand” will be used for camera control, and pressing ‘a’ will control your actions. Pressing the larger ‘A’ will be used for lock-on targeting, and from this point you will be able to swing your remote like a sword, or even perform various other actions for a bow or hookshot. The D-pad will essentially act as the C-buttons that we all grew up to love, allowing you to browse through your inventory with ease. In addition, the “nun-chuck” add-on will be used for steering Link while the two buttons act like ‘A’ and ‘B’ did on the GameCube.

We really can’t say for sure if this is what Nintendo will eventually choose for Twilight Princess, but we really don’t have any other reason to believe otherwise. It seems like an effective control scheme that wouldn’t take a whole lot of time to get used to, but we’ll probably have to wait until E3 before we can get an official look at this revolutionary control system.
