Wiibrew video: Wii System Menu hacks
A video posted on the web by crediar – who we could probably assume is the same developer working on WiiMU – shows a Wii System Menu hack that boasts of several intriguing features I’d love to see available soon, such as region-free Wii Games and channels. A new video that was posted on YouTube by crediar – who we can assume is the same one working on WiiMU – shows a new hack that allows several new features which may present a whole new avenue for Wiibrewers. According to the YouTube post, the hack includes the following features:
- No healthwarning (the blackscreen is the time it needs to load the channels)
- region free Wii games
- region free GC games
- region free channels
- start the build-in rescue menu when Y is pressed on the first GC controller
- rescue menu patch to boot everything not just diag-discs
- No mainmenu BGM
Since crediar is working on WiiMU, which aims to totally replace the Wii’s own System Menu, I’m inclined to say this hack is real and I’m looking forward to hearing more on it. Here’s the vid:
