WiiJ video: mixing four tracks

Here’s a new WiiJ video uploaded by donkeytonk at YouTube that shows four different tracks being mixed together at once. Come on, anything with the classic Legend of Zelda theme being remixed with classic Super Mario Bros. level themes is worth at least a glance over, so watch it.

Yes, some might think these oldies-but-goodies Nintendo tracks are being butchered, but this looks like a lot of fun.

One cool thing about using Wii controllers to mix tracks is that the DJ can move around. As long as there’s good line-of-sight, the WiiJ can actually move around the area. Wireless motion-sensing wonders never cease.

As we observed about the WiiJ demo in a previous article, it looks like a nifty (and still somewhat unique) way to mix up a party – and Wiimote-powered party at that. How do you get started? Here’s what you need:

  1. A computer with Bluetooth
  2. GlovePie
  3. Wiimote
  4. DJ software

The theory is easy – and it’s just three easy steps! Install #2 in #1. Use #2 to connect #3 to #1. Use #4 to map buttons and controls in #3. You can always find more info at DJWiiJ.com.
