WiiKey setup disk v1.2 released
We’re letting owners of the modchip“>WiiKey modchip for the Nintendo Wii console know that their chip has a new setup disc ready for download. According to the WiiKey team, this new setup disk (version 1.2) carries these applications:
- WiiKey configuration
- WiiKey dvdDump (dumps discs to sdcard)
- Some of the most popular gamecube homebrew apps:
- SDLoad 1.0 by Costis
- Snes9x 1.43 GX 0.5 Port by Softdev
- GCOs MultiGame Version by emu_kidid
- MFE Distro 1.0 by Isobel
As a further note, users are also being informed this update only adjusts the configuration stored in EEPROM. Firmware (fw) updates are to be expected later on, with one important fix being for the audio-streaming bug that was reported to cause several GC games to crash. Just keep alert when the team releases more info on this fw update.
The setup v1.2 disk download is available as a universal pack – it will work for any of the Wii’s three region codes (PAL, NTSC, Japan). Just head on over to the Wiikey modchip’s site whenever you’re ready to update, or if you missed out on the previous setup disk.
