WiiPointer, WiiCulture, and !!M Trademark Registered by Nintendo Japan

!!M

Nintendo Japan has just registered three new trademarks relating to the Wii – WiiPointer, WiiCulture, and !!M. While the first two patents are pretty straightforward and may lead to quite obvious inferences, the third one will be a bit hard to speculate on.

WiiPointer may refer to the currently known Wiimote. Putting the iPod culture in mind, where everything that refers to the ubiquitous Apple MP3 player is prefixed with the letter “i”, WiiCulture may serve as a label for all things Wii.

Now the name of the third one is pretty interesting in itself. In case you haven’t noticed, !!M is Wii upside-down. Now what could this pertain to? With talks of an instant messaging service for the Wii, dare we speculate !!M to be the name for the rumored service? Hmm…

Since all three names are now registered by Nintendo, rest assured we’ll hear more about WiiPointer, WiiCulture, and !!M in the coming days (or months but hopefully not years). Soon as QJ hears more, we’ll let you know.
