Wii-specific version of The Sims and other EGM rumors
Let’s face it, one of the oldest hobbies of the human race is gossiping. Everybody always has something to say about a person, an event and an inanimate object. We were wired that way and of course, there are social factors that push us to talk and spread rumors. So with that, it isn’t surprising that US magazine EGM revealed the current backfence talks about the next-gen consoles.
Let’s start with the Wii rumors first. A backfence talk that entered the EGM November issue is the question on where Virtua Cop, a first person shooter spin-off, will come out. Speculations pointed that it will be on the Wii, but according to the grapevine, it will most likely come out for the PS3. Another rumor is that games such as Road Rash and Desert Strike are heading to the next-gen consoles.
These next two are pretty juicy. Apparently, rumor has it that Electronic Arts is already working on a Wii-specific version of The Sims. Hmm, we wonder how the Wiimote would be used during kitchen accidents or when taking care of a new baby. The second juicy item is that Microsoft is pleading with Blizzard to make World of Warcraft an Xbox 360 exclusive, apparently, MS is creating a keyboard peripheral for their console war bet.
In the PSP scene, there are undying talks about remakes of Final Fantasy I-VI. It is unclear if the whole thing would be in one jampacked package or if it will be released separately.
Then there are other rumors which include 2K Games‘ development of an unlicensed football game, Harmonix alleged creation of a new music game that is said to be blessed with multiple instruments and online capabilities, and to wrap things up Don Corleone wasn’t spared from the list as it was mentioned that an alleged sequel to The Godfather is in the works.
Fact or fiction? We mere mortals could only speculate, gossip, and hope for some of these unconfirmed talks to be true. Hit us up with your comments.
