Wikipedia closes Wii, PS3, Sony entries: Vandalism a major problem

Locked!!!

Web encyclopedia, Wikipedia, has locked down its pages for the Nintendo’s Wii and the Sony‘s PS3. Blame this one on rabid  fan-boys. Note that rabid fan-boys are those slightly more immature versions of fan-boys who are a bit more polite and actually work for the money they’re going to use to buy their consoles.

Gamespot reports that a series of rather impartial edits over the last few weeks has led to the temporary lockdown. The lockdown is there so that Wiki will be able to  “protect” the credibility and integrity of the entries. Wikipedia hopes that virtual vandals will lose interest and find some other place to troll when the pages are re-opened to user edits.

If you want a sample of just how bad the situation is, these two award-winning edits, “Nintendo Sucks!!!!!!!” and “Microsoft is Zomg T3h Suck0r!!!!!”, were found in each company’s page entries.

The real world is indeed stranger than fiction.
