Wild Arms developer working on Wii project
Job listing sites don’t just let people know the possible career choices available to them. They also provide some interesting reading for those who are always on the lookout for new video game development news.
Case in point: Japan‘s E-Career recruiting site. IGN’s Anoop Gantayat reports that the site makes mention of the start of a new Wii project from none other than Media.Vision, the creators of Sony‘s popular western RPG series, Wild Arms. Here’s a quote from the IGN report.
According to the listing, Media Vision is seeking programmers for both the start of a new Wii project and for general mobile game development. The site doesn’t provide any information on the new Wii game, but it does make heavy mention of the developer’s success with the Wild Arms series, along with the fact that the female staff held a Valentines event where staff members played bingo to win chocolate sake and tofu.
This job listing might indicate a new RPG for the Nintendo Wii console, but we doubt that it will have anything to do with the Wild Arms series. It is a Sony title, after all. Wild Arms: The Vth Vanguard, the fifth iteration of the Wild Arms series, is already coming to America by way of the PS2 in Q3 of this year. There’s also a PSP game, Wild Arms XF (it’s not a port), coming soon.
