Rumors aren’t able to pinpoint a date for an M4 MacBook Pro update, but display shipments in the supply chain may indicate a fall announcement. Rumors suggest that Apple is planning to release a number of M4 updates for its Mac lineup in the fall. There’s no guarantee all models will receive the M4 upgrades, but it appears that one product line has a high chance of appearing. According to a post by Display Supply Chain Consultants CEO Ross Young to X on Thursday, panel shipments for the 14-inch MacBook Pro & 16-inch MacBook Pro began in July & August. Young says that the shipments suggest a Q4 release for the M4 models. This is a reasonable assumption, considering the long component lead times for a MacBook Pro update. The analyst’s comments give hope that other Mac models will also get their fall updates. This could be in a September/October event.
