World of Warcraft: Arena will get spectator mode

If you can sit back and watch a whole battleground episode between the Alliance and the Horde, then it couldn’t hurt to want to watch a match of the steadily growing competitive branch of World of Warcraft: the Arena bouts. Felliah, a level 41 Undead Warlock, was wondering if it could be possible to actually have a watch feature implemented over at the Arena.

It’s a pretty suggestion that even Blizzard had considered from the start. Some earlier artwork they had on the Arena pictured a good share of audiences around the Ring of Trials of the Arena, in fact. Ol’ blue Tseric confirmed this bit of info stating, “This is something we have considered and agree that it would be a cool feature. All that separates us from doing that is a large technical undertaking. It is on the table, but there are other large-scale things we are attending to at the moment.”

So while they are at work on the Black Temple and some much needed nerfs fixes, we can only think of the many pluses that a third-party observer feature could offer for the Arena. First and foremost on the list is to allow professional gaming leagues to watch and gauge team performance on the field.

Unless you’re awfully shy and can’t perform under watchful eyes, or have a teeny weeny issue about someone shouting out hints as to where you’re hiding, this tool isn’t bad at all.
