World’s first Blu-ray Media Centre
AMEX digital have unveiled the worlds first Blu-ray Media Centre. The AMEX MPC-505 is powered by an Intel Viv processor, features 2GB of DDR2 RAM, and comes fully-equipped with Windows Media Centre 2005 included. The MPC-505 can record TV shows from both digital and analogue tuners, play music, and photographs. You may think this takes up a lot of hard drive space, but there’s no need to worry about that with the MPC-505. It comes with a 1,000GB (1 Terabyte) hard drive included.
The MPC-505 can also (obviously) play Blu-ray discs. No form of media is currently available on Blu-ray discs, but when it launches, this media center will even be able to record to writable Blu-ray discs, giving you portable storage of up to 25GB. AMEX have not yet released details on pricing, but expect this to be very expensive.
