You guys might end up getting a newsletter from THQ, but for a free demo for Worms: Open Warfare 2, we’d say it’s a pretty nice trade-off. It seems THQ UK has quietly released a demo of the game to the public, allowing folks to try a copy of the game out before they buy it.

For those who’ve never heard of the Worms series of games, here’s a heads-up. In the series, you get to play as a worm who can outfit himself with all sorts of different weaponry. You fight other worms on a 2D stage and fire off your weapons at enemies to either dislodge them from the face of the game world or remove their HP completely. It’s a fun premise, and there’s probably no better way to try the game out for free than to download the demo, right?

The Worms: Open Warfare 2 demo is 4MB in size and requires that you sign up for the myTHQ member’s club before you can download it. That being said though, a few minutes of extra work shouldn’t be quite a big detriment to grabbing a piece of the worm-filled, action-packed pie.
